著名製片人瑞恩·墨菲(《歡樂合唱團》《美國恐怖故事》《美國犯罪故事》等)將為Netflix打造限製劇《怪物：傑夫瑞·達莫故事》(Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story，暫譯)。劇集雖以美國連環殺手傑夫瑞·萊昂內爾·達莫為主角，但探討主題是警方在一係列追查行動中的冷漠和無能，消息人士稱劇本中將特別聚焦1991年前後、達莫十幾次逃脫成功的實例。
伊安·布瑞南依然是墨菲的固定搭檔，卡爾·弗蘭克林(《紙牌屋》)將執導第一集，與墨菲合作《姿態》的詹妮特·莫克出任其他幾集的導演，理查德·詹金斯([水形物語])已經確定出演達莫的父親，片方正在尋找扮演達莫和機警鄰居格蘭達·克利夫蘭的演員。
